I have just installed on Ubuntu 9.10
Installed Wine 1.0.1 from Synaptic Package Manager.
Downloaded Evernote_3.1.0.1225.exe
Moved the .exe to a userx\apps folder then ran
“wine Evernote_3.1.0.1225.exe” installed the program without a problem.
A shortcut is placed on your desktop.
I got “connection timeout” a couple of times when I tried to login then it but then it logged in normally and slowly downloaded by Notebooks from my account

Like Helge I tried Evernote 3.5. This required .net 3.5 which does not work with the stable version of wine.

I tried to install Evernote 3.5 in Wine, but it didn’t work. Something about some component to be downloaded that couldn’t be verified. Maybe .net related. Version 3.1 installed OK, though.

Thanks for the excellent instructions! I plan on using Evernote 2.2 on an openSUSE 11.1 install. I am doing an experiment and trying to see if I can work an entire week on Linux. Evernote is critical to my day to day business operations (I don’t use the advanced features) and I would be lost without it.
